Hi – I thought I had sussed the internet link but this is the first for a couple of days I have been able to connect. Thank you all for your prayers and support – I have felt the benefit of them and would ask you to continue to pray.

Monday 3rd November

The prayer times in the Caledonian Hotel have risen to a new level and we are immediately sensing the Lord presence as we allow Him to direct our time together. Most of the prayer time over runs until about 12 noon. We are not only receiving revelation as how to pray into Oban but the Lord is dealing with each of our lives at the same time. Awesome. The next 6 hours was spent listening and encouraging folks in the vision for their own lives and also for Oban. God is speaking very clearly into individuals who are willing to make themselves available to Him.

Tuesday 4th November

Again, another amazing prayertime in the Hotel – now making contact with the staff as they serve us our coffee. We are praying for an opening into praying with the staff’s lives. The duty manager welcomes me like a long lost friend when he is around. Please pray for these openings to continue. We pray constantly for God’s favour over this hotel.

I then went out on the streets for a prayer walk with three others and had a good time and was able to pray into the lives of a couple out on the streets. This is my heart to be out on the streets of Oban declaring the Kingdom of God and manifesting its power. Next was a prayer time in the local APC where I was able to meet up with a couple of local ministries and will meet up with them next week for a coffee. Had a bite to eat then it was off to Pulpit Hill for a praise and prayer time. It was dark by this time and we had a wonderful time of Holy Spirit inspired worship by torchlight and to publicly declare the word of God over Oban. Hass, one of the guys with a guitar sang a song which appeared to come from the very Throne Room of God – He had written it only last week. Wow!! I felt the need for a prophetic drum beat to stir us and keep us marching in tune with Heaven – Sue Rimmer just happened to have a couple of drums in her car – they are never in her car – so we were able to ask the Holy Spirit for a beat – just like the one we had at the start of the 50 Days in Shetland – the beat that came was one that is still playing in my spirit. I believe we are starting to see an open heaven over Oban.

Wednesday 5th November

Was only in the Hotel for 30  minutes today as I was going down to Stirling for a meeting and to bring Jenny back up to Oban. The meeting was cancelled but had a nice time in our house for a couple of hours, then headed back up the road, stopping off at dear jean Blacks for a meal along with Mari SChuyler (PfS Team) and Bob and Helen Piper. It was good fellowship and we arrived back in Oban about 10.30pm. It’s good to have Jenny up here with me for the rest of my stay.

As ever, I value your prayers

Every Blessing

Hi – at last I have an internet connection – this has been very difficult to get over the past few days. I think I have sussed the problem, so pray for no more interruptions.

Tuesday 28th October

I have had a great time with a men’s group in the Caledonian Hotel – had fun – men being boys then we had this amazing time of prayer. This group meets every Tuesday evening so I am already looking forward to next Tuesday.

Wednesday 29th October.

I had an early meeting this morning at 8.00am with the director of a wonderful youth organisation in Oban called H2O – Hope to Oban. They are doing amazing stuff in the lives of Oban High School pupils and have access to the school most days. Here is an organisation based in a building but work mostly in the community. O that our fellowships could do the same thing. How do we break the mentality of always expecting people to come to us when all the time we should be reaching out to them. We could learn many valuable lessons from how this group operates. I look forward to meeting with this group in the weeks to come.

The prayer time this morning was smaller in number but nevertheless effective. Already there is appearing a core group of intercessors who are coming most mornings. Praise God. There was also the opportunity to pray into the lives of some who had come.

This afternoon I met with Hilary – she is keeping my diary up to date during my stay in Oban.

Thursday 30th October

Again, another wonderful prayer time in the Caledonian Hotel. We were able to pray for healing and deliverance and experience God move in peoples lives. We felt lead to pray into the lives of recognised key people in Oban and prayed for open doors to meet and pray with them.

I then had a meeting with a man who appears to have influence in the town and signs himself ‘McCaig’ in his column in the Oban Times. He is not a ‘McCaig’ but uses this as his byline – he has been a journalist for the London and New York Times. I expected to meet for about 20 minutes but it lasted about one and half hours. He also has a radio programme on Oban FM and will announce our prayer times every week. He has also invited me to record a 12 minute meditation to be aired in January. I was also able to gain vauable historical information about Oban. A very worthwhile meeting.

I then joined a H20 club for the elderly in the afternoon andhad a great time chatting with the folks who came. One old bloke when he heard my name was McKaig as in the Tower, he quickly replied ‘It’s about *!*!*!* time you came back to finish it.

Tonight I dined with an ex soldier (his wife and young baby were down south) and we had a great bachelor evening. Had a good time trading experiences and prayed together at the end. This has been a very busy day.

Friday 31st October

Payer time this morning overran by about one hour – God did amazing stuff and revelation just flowed for about an hour.

Did some shopping then went to a ‘Hallowed E’en’ Praise Bonfire and BBQ on the banks of Loch Ettive. Wonderful, uplifting experience.

Saturday 1st November

Had a relatively quiet day and did some preparation for my preach on Sunday morning.

Sunday 2nd November

This morning was a bit different as it started off with ‘Swallowship’ a time of eating breakfast together in Lorn Christian Fellowship – something imported from Uganda, I think. The place was busy again and I preached on the Priority of The Kingdom. Did some drama with the children – an old joke of mine acted out and was very effective in illustrating what the message was about. Feed back was that there was a real need in  most lives for the Kingdon of God to be top priority.

At night went to an H2O Prayer Supper and prayed into an amzing opportunity given to the group to actually be a part of the sixth years curriculum. A real answer to prayer and one we would like to see being extended over the rest of the nation.

I do value all your prayers

Every Blessing

Hi – sorry for no posts over the last few days but I have found it difficult to keep a strong wireless internet connection. I have one now so will attempt to write and post this entry.

Jenny joined me over the weekend and it was good to be together and she left to go home today at 12.00pm. I have just had a phone call from her and she is now on the Polmont train.

Saturday 25th October

Was a quiet day and spent a lot of time with Jenny – the weather was atrocious. At night we dined with Andrew and Lucy from Lorn Christian Fellowship at there home in Taynult.

Sunday 26th October

This was my first preach in Lorn Christian Fellowship – the place was packed to capacity and we had a wonderful and challenging time unpacking The Kingdom Message. After giving a brief outline of the Kingdom and my intention over the coming weeks, spoke of the great need to Love each other – we could not build the KIngdom in Oban if the foundation of love was not shown and practised among each other. I brought out the three degress of love in the Bible – Love your neighbour and the benchmark for this is ‘as yourself.’ Then the new commandment Jesus gave ‘ Love each other’ and the benchmark for this is ‘even as as I haved loved you.’ And the third degree - Loving God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind. We broke for a few minutes as the fellowship moved around telling folks they had never really got to know that they were important and that they loved them. The presence of God was just so heavy. Then we concluded with the ‘first’ first in Matthew 5, – ‘First go and be reconciled with your brother’ – this was a real challenge as Kingdom Living reaches into every part of our lives. The folks I have met since are all moving in reconciliation – in the fellowship, famlies and friends.

Monday 27th October

This was our first All Oban Prayer time in the Caledonian Hotel – who would come? Our first morning drew seven people to pray and God brought us together with a desire to hear Him and to be odeient to His voice. We had seen the first snow as we drove in and it reminded us that this was the start of a new season.

I was at another prayer time in a lady’s house at night – this has been going on for a number of years and in the house was a young couple recently brought to the Lord. I pray that they are the firstfruits of many more coming into the Kingdom.

Tuesday 28th October.

As we made our way to the Caledonian Hotel we wondered again – would anybody turn up? Ten peole joined us – (O ye of little faith) nine new ones from yesterday and we had the most amazing time of prayer. Two of the folks were actively moving in reconciliation after Sunday and we were able to pray into their situations. We also prayed with the Director of Oban Helaing Rooms, Francis,  who is travelling down to Glasgow tomorrow for a further operation for cancer. O how we prayed for the maifestation of  Kingdom healing to be present in her body. Please keep praying with me into all these situations.

Jenny has since left to go home – pray for her over the next week or so until she is able to join me again in Oban.

Tonight I am going back out into Oban to a men’s prayer time.

I really value your prayers and would love for you to leave a comment on the blog.

Every Blessing

Hi – Thanks again for all your prayers and support. When I left Polmont on Monday a beautiful rainbow appeared in front of me within 2 minutes of leaving the house. When I arrived in Connell there over the bridge was another beautiful rainbow. This morning after the Lord had wonderfully provided a prayer room for me in Oban there in front of me was, yes, another beautiful rainbow. Thank you Lord - you are the One who keeps on fulfillimg your gracious promises.

My Hosts, John & Jenny have been marvelous and have welcomed me into their family, would you pray for them as they leave for South America for six weeks on Monday and have very kindly given me full use of their home while they are away. You are indeed, Jehovah Jirah.

I have started making contact with folks and the lady in the bookshop is already giving me insight and names of families for me to pray into. I went to the ‘Healing Rooms’ this morning in Oban and was greatly blessed by their prayers and support. They saw a picture of two angels carrying a white sheet and they came and placed that sheet over me – saying that God’s favour would rest over me and doors would open and all would show me favour. I walked out of these rooms with a spring in my step to look for a room for prayer in the centre of Oban to be open Monday to Friday from 9.00am until 11.am.

I walked along the main street looking at the ‘Royal Hotel’ and thought what a great place for Kingdom citizen’s to meet but felt no rise in my spirit. Then I passed the ‘Palace Hotel’ with the same thoughts. But  again, nothing. Then noticed rooms above the ‘Nationwide Building Society’ and yet again how prophetic would that be, but no sense of it being right. I walked more then turned and said, ‘Holy Spirit, I need direction here, you already have the room marked, will you show me where it is? Amen.’ As I walked passed a pelican crossing it went to green and started to peep so I felt I was being guided and ended up in the ‘Caledonian Hotel’ right on the front at Oban. Yes, this felt right, standing praying not only for Oban but for the whole of Caledonia. (Scotland). I went in and had a look around, spoke with the Duty Manager, told him who I was and what I wanted. I expected him to direct me to a dark corner in the back, but no, he suggested I use the ‘Snug’ right in the front window of the hotel, a public place I had always wanted. So from Monday morning at 9.00am an Oban prayer time will be taking place in the heart of Oban, five days a week for at least one month. What an awesome God we have, I will go before you.

Jenny, my wife arrives by train today and will be staying until Tuesday. It will be good to see her and spend some time with her.

Please pray for Sunday morning as I am officially welcomed into Oban and that the ‘favour of God’ would continue to rest on me as I bring the ‘KIngdom’ message not only to Lorn Christian Fellowship but to this whole area.

Every Blessing

I am now starting to make arrangements to meet up with folks around the Oban area. I don’t start in the Fellowship until Sunday but will be meeting up  with the leaders this evening to do some forward planning. Please pray for a Holy Spirit inspired time. I am also meeting up with the lady who will organise my diary while I am here.

Today and tomorrow I will be searching for a suitable place in Oban to meet for prayer every day I am here – I am looking for a place that is central and free if possible. Please pray for this.

Yesterday afternoon I drove into Oban and as I prayed got the sense of God saying, I was to be bold with relevancy. I was going to come into contact with all kinds of people, young and old, and this was going to be so important. The place of relevancy comes out of the presence of God, hearing His voice and being obedient to it. I believe there will be circumstances where boldness will be needed in speaking what I am hearing. I need so much prayer and I thank you for providing this prayer cover for me.

Until tomorrow – Every Blessing

I have finally arrived in Oban – well not quite – I am staying in North Connel on the banks of beautiful Loch Ettive. As I write this the sun is shimmering on the Loch and my desk widow looks right onto the water. I am also within 400 yards of the birthplace of Duncan Campbell – I am looking out to the farm where he was born. O to capture something of the spirt of Duncan Campbell and deliver the word of the Lord to the people in Oban and surrounding area. God is already going ahead with provision – last night my main meal was two rainbow trout caught on Sunday in the loch. They were delicious.

Today, I am just getting settled in and setting up internet connections and phones – my computer phone number is 0131 208 1421 – which will just cost local call rates if you want to phone me this comes right to my laptop and an answering machine will take a message if I am not around. My email is address is pastorbert@connecting scotland.com.

I will have a wee drive out this afternoon into Oban and just start to sense what the Lord is saying at this time.

I appreciate all your prayer and words of encouragement and remember to leave a comment for me if you are so inclined to do so.

Every Blessing

We have just returned from a lighthouse near Gairloch where 26 of us gathered from last Friday until Monday – The was billed as a Lighthouses of Prayer Training Weekend – and it was something I wanted to do before being released from Pray for Scotland but the Lighthouse was not available until last weekend. The facilitators for the weekend were Jenny & I (Polmont), Jean Black (Stirling) and Mari Schuyler(Lanark)  – the rest of the folks came from Uist, Sutherland, Inverness, Oban, Prestonpans, Callander, Dumfries, West Kilbride, Yorkshire, Edinburgh, Inverkeithing, Coalsnaughton,Elgin and Plean also a good mix of male and female. This was just an awesome weekend – locked away into the presence of God. Jean & Mari led many of the discussion and sharing sessions – which were such a blessing as folks from different parts of the country, were able to connect and see that God was doing similar things across Scotland. We had wonderful worship times and prayer times both corporate and individual – many lives (in fact all lives) were touched by Lord over the weekend. I gave the teaching over four sessions – all about the Kingdom of God – Session One: Kingdom Praying. Session Two: Kingdom Caring. Session Three: Kingdom Sharing and Session Four: The Gospel of the Kingdom of God (Heaven). This teaching was well received and took the folks into a different dimension in Christian living. We trust the weekend birthed a new passion and expectation of the purpose and will of God to be worked out in Scotland – that all men will be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth.

We are now back home and I am getting ready to travel to Oban for a month. I will be leaving on Monday 20th October.  Five people at Gairloch prayed into my visit to Oban late on Sunday night and there were certainly strong prophetic words given to me – my ears and hands were anointed with specific instructions – this was very timely.

I will be working every day and would value your prayers as I labour with Lorn Christian Fellowship and also as I teach ‘Kingdom Principles’ to see them modelled out in the streets and in the lives of the people of Oban – to see the kingdom of darkness robbed of every soul in Oban. Would you stand with me in this prayer – anything less would be praying beneath the mind and purpose of God? 1 Timothy 2. That the Kingdom of Heaven would be rejoicing every day and having great celebrations every night over community transformation in Oban and the surrounding area.

I am so, so, desperate for the Kingdom of God to be paramount in my life – I can think of nothing else – I seek it first above all other things and God’s righteousness making it a priority in my life and to take this passion and bring it to Oban and to the rest of Scotland.

Welcome to my blog KingdomLive.

My name is Bert McKaig – recently released from Pray for Scotland where I served for a number of years as a Director. I believe the Lord is calling me to teach on His Kingdom and to bring God’s people into a greater understanding of what it means to live in it.

I would like you to journey with me as I would seek to teach and model the Kingdom of God around this nation.

I am off with 23 others on Friday to a Lighthouse of Prayer Training Weekend up near Gairloch with Pray for Scotland. I will be teaching over this weekend on Kingdom Praying, Kingdom Caring and Kingdom Sharing. Jean Black and Mari Schuyler will be leading discussion seminars on these three subjects – Praying, Caring and Sharing. Jenny, my wife and I will also be doing the cooking over the weekend.

When we get back on Monday I will post a report on how the weekend went.

On Monday 20th October I will be travelling to Oban to spend a month teaching and modelling the Kingdom of God and would value your prayer support in this – but more about that next week.

Every Blessing – Pastor Bert
